Loren Apokourastos

Loren is a speech pathologist and PhD candidate studying at the University of Sydney. She has worked clinically as a speech pathologist for the last 6 years in the disability sector in Australia. She has strong interests in the areas of dysphagia and swallowing intervention for young people with cerebral palsy.

Her PhD topic focuses on exploring the swallowing and mealtime experiences of young people with cerebral palsy, as well as improving current dysphagia intervention practices for this population. Loren is affiliated to CP-Achieve as a Research Associate and hopes to continue to improve young people's social participation in mealtimes and overall physical health and wellbeing.
