Supporting the skills and knowledge of young adults with cerebral palsy to be physically active in their communities – co-designing knowledge translation resources.
Presented by Dr Georgia McKenzie
This presentation will provide an overview of the work undertaken in CP-Achieve to understand and support physical activity participation of young adults with cerebral palsy. We will share how we worked with young adults with cerebral palsy to translate this knowledge into meaningful resources that support their skills and knowledge for physical activity participation across the lifespan.
Dr Georgia McKenzie is CP-Achieve’s Knowledge Translation Fellow for Physical Activity and a physiotherapist at the Young Adult Complex Disability Service, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. She recently completed her PhD with CP-Achieve. Georgia’s work focuses on supporting and empowering adults with cerebral palsy to be active and connected within their local communities.
